Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a master's degree of English literature. In the year 1967, Mitchell began her career as a reporter with KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. 1976 Mitchell became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News two year later. In 1981 she started reporting from the White House. In 1988, she became head of the congressional reporters. She was promoted to the chief White House correspondent in 1992 as well as chief foreign reporter of NBC News in 1994. Mitchell has been a panelist, as well as anchor of the TV show Meet the Press. She served as a panelist in the 1988 presidential debates with George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is the spouse of Alan Greenspan who was former chairman at Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell received the Goldsmith Career Award in 2005 by the John F. Kennedy School of Government to honor her achievements in the field of journalism. In 2004 The Radio-Television News Directors Association gave Mitchell the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contributions to protecting First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell started covering in the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. Her reporting included a number of significant stories, including the Iran-contra scandal, the tax reform and the budget, as well as the arms control. She traveled extensively with President Reagan during summits along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
